Tamper-evident cryogenic labels for microtubes, cryo vials and other cryogenic container, these destructible labels are made with an extra-permanent adhesive, specifically designed for extreme low-temperature storage, that ensures the label retains its adhesion without degrading. They have been specifically designed to safely and securely seal cryo containers, ensuring any attempt at tampering is readily visible. Once applied, these destructible labels cannot be removed without being destroyed, ideal for pharmacies, pharmaceutical and biomedical research laboratories, cell banks and tissue banks, bio-repositories, IVF clinics, and any industry that handles sensitive or hazardous material.
These cryo tamper-proof labels are waterproof and resistant to multiple freeze-thaw cycles, ideally suited for labelling as well as safeguarding 1.0 and 1.5 ml microtubes (Eppendorf tubes), 1.0 and 2.0 ml cryo vials, polypropylene cryo boxes as well as other cryogenic containers, that are stored in laboratory freezers (-20ºC, -40ºC, -80ºC, -120ºC), liquid and vapour phase liquid nitrogen (-196ºC) or intended for dry ice transport (-78ºC). To guarantee proper adhesion in liquid phase liquid nitrogen Dewars, the label must have an overlap of at least 1/8th of an inch when used on small diameter tubes and vials; no overlap is needed at -80ºC and above
Furthermore, the novel design of this label makes them both weatherproof and wear and tear proof, able to withstand harsh outdoor conditions, from exposure to UV and gamma irradiation (50 KGy tested) to even boiling water (+100ºC for 5 minutes). This in turn makes them suitable for use with many different products including plastic bags, boxes, CD cases and other containers where a tamper-evident seal is required.
These cryo destructible labels can be printed with all major commercially available thermal-transfer printers (CAB, SATO, Zebra, Intermec, Printronix, Datamax-O’Neil, etc.), or inscribed with permanent markers. GA International also provides an assortment of colour tamper-evident tape for colour-coding, making identification quick and easy.
The labels are resistant to standard ethylene oxide gas sterilization, consisting of a 60-minute exposure to 759mg/L of ethylene oxide gas, at 55oC, and 40-80% relative humidity, followed by a two-hour aeration cycle.
GA International is the manufacturer of cryogenic destructible cryogenic labels for liquid nitrogen and low temperature freezer use.
